Welcome to microelectronics and emerging technologies thermal lab (METTL)! Our research activities mainly focus on the thermal management of automotive electronics, EV motors and data centers through experiments, modeling and CFD simulations. We also study the thermal management in heterogeneous integration of microsystems and thermal management in smart cities. To achieve our goals, various advanced cooling techniques are explored. Particularly, advanced engineered-surfaces and novel micro-structures are developed to substantially enhance the phase change heat transfer.
